Experimental film · Photobook
A personal tribute to my late aunt, Luanne, combining an experimental short film and the photobook I Am Whirlwind. Family testimonies, hand-painted and scratched animation frames, poetry, letters and photographs explore grief, love and remembrance. Exhibited as part of my final university showcase.

Balladry Vortex
Before the film and final photobook, I made this handmade book as a way of grieving, honouring and understanding my aunt Luanne’s extraordinary mind. Her poems and messages sit beside drawings, paint and a photograph of her with my grandmother Joyce. These pages hold the moments of gratitude and connection I wanted to keep.

I am Whirlwind
My final-project photobook is a prologue to knowing her: her life, her family and friends, and the people she truly cherished. It accompanies Aking Tita as another way to spend time with her, while or after watching the film.
